This has been confirmed by the secretary of State of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, Roberto Sánchezduring his speech at the 34th Digital Economy and Telecommunications Meeting organized by Ametic.
The person in charge of telecommunications has indicated that this strategy is within the framework of the project to attract foreign investment in the audiovisual market, which is part of the plan Spain 2025 to digitize the Spanish economy.
“We are already capturing quite a few of these transfers to European soil in competition with other Member States, the objective is to attract these investments and improve the development of the sector”, he indicated.
Similarly, he added that one of the objectives of the plan to attract investment in the audiovisual sector is to take advantage of situations such as the brexit “which means that there is a group of companies that, in order to address the European market, need to be on European soil to access these community advantages and that, therefore, have a great interest in moving”, he pointed out.
We are talking about large audiovisual companies, but also smaller studios for the production of series, movies, but also animation and video games.

The audiovisual industry is one of the great priorities of the Secretary of State, an action that will also be accompanied by the approval of a new Audiovisual Law. The main objective of this legal body will be to transpose the European audiovisual directive to equalize the rules of audiovisual platforms in streaming to traditional platforms.
