Jesus Beltra will finally have a political current affairs program in Spanish television. Sources of the public chain have confirmed to invested that the journalist is preparing his new space and that the official announcement will be made in the next few days.

Negotiations have been going on for weeks and have finally come to fruition. It is expected that his space can begin to compete against Ferreras in the desktop in October or, at the latest, in November.

In this way, the presenter completes a bizarre round trip, a journey through the desert of five years since he was fired by Mediaset accusing him of “lack of pluralism”. Now land on TVE thanks to its proximity to the PSOE and with the left. belt it will become the harpoon of the political information of the public chain in moments of maximum political tension.

A land that is not foreign to him since has earned in his own right the title of scourge of the Popular Party. Cintora arrives to reinforce a chain heavily criticized from the very PP due to its proximity to Government of Pedro Sanchez and by the journalists themselves that the soriano lashed out at the time of the TVE black friday, when a change was requested in the management of the newscasts under the presidency of Mariano Rajoy.

But Cintora is not without sin. Precisely, her detractors place her on the opposite side of the sidewalk and do not forget the way in which she left the Mediaset of Paul Vasile who tried to make his first steps in political information, but ended up returning to his origins after the sticks he dedicated Cintora to the then President Rajoy.

Exit from Mediaset

“The editorial line of Mediaset Spain is consistent throughout its programming and has the clear objective of informing, not educating, viewers through a pluralism with which to give a voice to absolutely all political opinions and with presenters who treat the information objectively”.

With this harsh statement, Mediaset Spain justified the dismissal of Jesús Cintora from The Mornings of Four in March 2015 after two seasons. Rarely does a television channel position itself so clearly against one of its presenters, and even less directly accusing him of not treating the information objectively.

The note was released to the media a few hours after the belt confirmed all the speculations by posting the message on his Twitter account #26MStopJaws. Minutes before the management of the chain had informed him that he was leaving the program.

What happened? Own belt was responsible for spreading the version that the Popular Party and the Government of Mariano Rajoy they personally asked for his head. That same week the program, of which the journalist himself had editorial control, broadcast some photographs of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Garcia Margalloin a bullring the same day that the Tunis attack took place in which a Spanish couple died.

In fact, the photos of Garcia Margallo were the straw that broke the camel’s back after a campaign of harassment and demolition against the Popular Party of Mariano Rajoy. In social networks and from the loudspeaker of his Mediaset television programs, he became the scourge of the party of Government and in an unexpected ally of a Pedro Sanchezwho at that time made his debut as leader of the opposition after winning the general secretary of the PSOE.

Against TVE

With a rough, direct, sometimes agitating style, without hiding his closeness to the ideological left and always with the opinion ahead, Cintora made a name for himself as the main media figure against marianismo. A profile that was not blurred after leaving Mediaset.

In fact, after receiving television proposals from the Telecinco editor himself that distanced him from the first political line, he turned to social networks to criticize the Government and ask TVE for pluralism.

In fact, he was the best speaker for those who asked for a change of scenery in the public network. During the motion of censure presented by Pedro Sanchez In 2018, Cintora accused his now television of lack of pluralism and manipulating information. With the arrival of Rosa María Mateo as the sole administrator of the public, the criticism ceased.

At the moment little is known about his new program, but it is clear that he will compete with Antonio Garcia Ferreras, albeit with a similar ideological position. From Moncloa, a perfect clamp is thus achieved to maintain the coalition government with unprecedented media support at lunchtime, Sánchez’s favorite television slot to influence voters.

With Cintora on TVE, the Government Psoe-Podemos Seamless support and a continuous attack on the PP are guaranteed, at a time when they need it most to be able to manage a tough legislature that has three years ahead marked by a strong economic crisis and the health uncertainty of Covid.
